Frequently asked questions

Designer = function and Decorator = ‘the look’

The clue is in the word ‘decorator’. Interior decoration is all about just that – colour, fabrics, wallpaper, paint…

A friend describes it perfectly like this:

If you pick up a building and shake it the decorative things are the ones that fall out. What is left was designed by an architect, interior architect or interior designer.

You can. We will sort out your decoration pack in consultation with you and then it’s over to you to complete the job. If needed, we can also work direct with your chosen decorator.

Yes! We have our own trusted team of decorators who we love working with. Once the design stage is complete, we provide you with a cost for implementation and oversee the whole thing, including arranging access with you and keeping you up to date with progress. This ensures that the finished decoration has the Emma Painter Interiors attention to detail seal of approval!

We are happy to discuss this service as part of one of our design packages.

We regularly meet up with clients in Showrooms to make final decisions on fixtures and fittings and have been known to whisk a client up to Chelsea Harbour to look at fabrics and trimmings. This service is perfect for a client who really finds it hard to visualise and wants to be up close and personal with the products for their project.
